caribbean vacation

I am looking at where I am going to go with my niece on her spring break from school and thought a Caribbean vacation would be nice. I found this site that has some travel tips I thought that I would share.

  • Remember that Caribbean vacations for Americans means you need a passport to re-enter the U.S.
  • Understand the weather so that the activities you want to do are possible. December to February it can be below 60 degrees. Hurricane season is from May to November.
  • If a marriage is in the plan, make sure you know the marriage laws on land or at sea if necessary.
  • What language will people speak? This may change what island you wish to spend your Caribbean vacation. The Bahamas speak primarily English while the Dominican Republic speaks Spanish and Castilian.
  • Check local customs when it comes to tipping.

I thought these were a few good tips to consider when planning your Caribbean vacation. I never thought about the weather, I figured it was swimsuit weather there all the time. I guess I was wrong. Anyway, I hope this helps with your Caribbean vacation plans.
