Caribbean vacation: It's not too hot. |

| For whatever the reason, when I talk to all kinds of different people about my caribbean vacation travel in the summer time, they give me the same shocked stare and then they ask, "Well, isn't it too hot in the summer?" I'm amazed by that question all the time. It's like people really believe that if you vacation in the caribbean in the summer you're going to die in the heat or something. But, I travel to the caribbean a lot, and I do most of my travel in the summer time. It's true, there are certain islands that you'll probably want to steer clear of in the summer heat, but there are many that are beautiful and refreshing. Just do your homework about your caribbean vacation before you leave and make sure that the islands you visit are cooled by the trade winds. As well, avoid tromping around in the interior in the dense jungle in the hottest part of the day--never a good idea as there's no breeze there to cool your caribbean vacation. But, in relation to a lot of places in North America in the summer, the caribbean doesn't get the extremes in temperature that keep so many North Americans hot and uncomfortable. So, when you're planning your caribbean vacation, research the islands you'd like to visit, make sure they're cooled by the trades and you'll have a much more enjoyable trip. |
