Caribbean Vacation With A Mission |

My husband has been on a Caribbean vacation twice now, but each time it was with a mission. When we were first married, he took a Caribbean vacation to the Dominican Republic. He went back again just a couple of years ago. His mission? On his first Caribbean vacation to the Dominican Republic, he went to assist in building a church. He spent a solid week working up in the mountains of the Dominican Republic to build it. The scenery, he said, was incredible! How can he consider a mission trip to the DR as a Caribbean vacation? He spent an afternoon with some of the people that he'd met swimming in a beautiful water hole and jumping off of a magnificent waterfall into the pool below. Mission trips are a great opportunity for a Caribbean vacation, as there is always a time for relaxation and play after the work is done. He came home with a cut up foot after tipping his kayak over near a coral reef. On his second trip to the Dominican Republic, he assisted in handing out much needed medical supplies to the local villagers. Amidst performing short skits and speaking with the people of the village, there was time for a soccer game with the children. It may seem like a lot of work in the hot sun, but his Caribbean vacations have been a pleasure and a treat, both times he has visited the Dominican Republic.
