She knows that I’ve been looking for a flight up to San Francisco for some time now and sent an email with links to cheap airfare. This is a completely leisure inspired trip so I have no set plans on when it has to be. I was in San Fran last year, around this time and wanted to go back every since. It is a great town. From the trolleys to the pier to the big city feel downtown, it is an easy place to spend a few days. The cheap airfare was for September travel. Now that is a bit longer than I wanted to wait but the price is extremely affordable. I’m talking under 100 dollars each way on Alaska Airlines.

Planning this far in advance will also give me a leg up on a hotel discount. September seems a long way out right now but it will go fast. The first 6 months of 2010 are behind us and it feels like it was just January. Summer travel is what life is all about. New experiences, new places and new memories is the goal of all travel.  
]]> Mon, 28 Jun 2010 06:41:41 GMT <![CDATA[Caribbean Cruise was Great Birthday Gift]]> caribbean cruiseA few days ago my husband gave me an early birthday gift, tickets for a Caribbean cruise a little later on this summer.   It actually isn’t my birthday for two more weeks, so I found myself a little surprised that he gave me the tickets for the Caribbean cruise this early.  He usually waits until the exact date to give me a birthday gift, but he said that this year he just couldn’t wait because he knew I’d be excited.    He apparently found the Caribbean cruise online for a super price, and said that it was something he knew I’d always wanted to do so he immediately ordered it.   He’d already had the tickets for the Caribbean cruise for two weeks when he finally couldn’t stand it anymore and gave them to me.  I am so excited that I don’t know what to do with myself, but it’s probably a good thing I still have to wait a month.  It will give me time to find some clothes to wear because I have absolutely nothing to wear on a cruise.  You can be assured that I’ll have fun finding things to wear.

It could be as simple but difficult as knowing the right person or as universal as a website that offers cheap airfare. There are different approaches depending on the situation. I’m looking forward to watching Moto GP at Laguna Seca, California at the end of July. This is the premier event for the city neighboring the race track so every room is booked and prices on everything are projected to increase due to all the people who will have no choice but to pay. This situation is near impossible to find a hotel discount without prior planning. Popular destinations should be locked down early.

On the other side of the coin, a not so popular destination usually comes with deep discounts even if it is Caribbean travel. Going on off months, staying in less popular resorts, speaking with the front desk for a hotel discount on account of open rooms all saves money. This time of year cheap airfare is abundant at the right websites. It just takes a little bit of research.
]]> Fri, 18 Jun 2010 05:52:50 GMT <![CDATA[Finding Cheap Airfare for Our Vacation]]> cheap airfareMy husband and I are hoping to take a vacation next month, but since we are on a fairly limited budget, I’m hoping to find some cheap airfare for our journey.     About a week ago, I’d been looking at plane tickets and I couldn’t believe how expensive they were for the time frame in which we wanted to travel.   I tried changing the dates one or two days, but it really didn’t make a big difference.   I hear people talking about cheap airfare all the time, but this definitely wasn’t it.     I actually called my best friend and was complaining about how we may end up driving the trip if we couldn’t find any cheap airfare, but I really didn’t want to have to drive because it would cut into our travel time too much.   She asked where I’d been searching for tickets and I told her where, and she said that I’d been looking in the wrong place and gave me a different site for cheap airfare and I plan to check it out today.   Hopefully I’ll be ordering the plane tickets within the next day or so and we will be up, up and away.

From the moment my best friend and I decided to go on a Caribbean cruise this coming winter, I started looking online to see what kind of information I could find, along with ships and other information, like prices.    I’ve never been one to use a travel agent, and in this day and age of the Internet, you really don’t need to.   In fact, I’ve found that more often than not things like the Caribbean cruise we’re planning can be found for a better price online.   My best friend actually went to the travel agent to get information on a Caribbean cruise and the prices I found are much better.    At this point, it’s going to be her, my husband, parents and of course, I but if we can get more people to come, that will be great.  After all, the more the merrier.   We figured while the weather is cold and dreary, there’s nothing like taking a Caribbean cruise, plus Desere will be turning 40 and what better way to celebrate.   We’re all looking forward to it and the more information I get, the more excited we become.

My wonderful husband, Jerry, received a much deserved two-week vacation last month. Jerry and I were so excited! We had not had been awarded any time off work to spend a vacation together for years! Due to my unpleasant experiences with travel agents in the past, I absolutely refused to ever see them again!

I am very lucky in that I have a very close knit family. We love to do everything together, especially vacation. Every five years we plan a very big adventure, and all the family members from across the United States come together for it. The last holiday that we took together was on a Caribbean cruise. I can honestly say that of all of the vacations we have taken together, our Caribbean cruise was easily the best.

Everyone in our family had a wonderful time on the cruise. The kids spent days doing activities with the other children on board, while the adults spent time sipping cocktails and getting spa treatments. For me, the best part of the Caribbean cruise was the views of the ocean from each deck. I have never seen anything more beautiful than the natural majesty of the Caribbean sunsets. In a close second place, the sunrises were almost as magical.

We usually do not usually do repeat vacations, but I have a strong feeling that we will be taking another Caribbean cruise on our next family vacation. I can not imagine that any other vacation would suit the desires of everybody as perfectly as our cruise did. I simply can not wait to see another one of those magical sunsets again.

Flowers have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, actually since before I could remember. My mother has told me countless stories about long spring days spent in the garden. She used to take me outside in my pram while she would work on the garden. She said that I was always at my most happy when I was outside among the plants. It was no surprise then, when at the age of two I had already begun to care for a few plants of my own. In the years to come, I would win awards for my gardens and have a lucrative career in florists work. Of all of my flowery memories, one really stands out to me. It was on my Caribbean vacation when I really felt myself at the peak of respect for plant life.

Going on a Caribbean vacation was wonderful in so many different ways for me. Seeing the native plants and animals while experiencing a Caribbean vacation adventure was something incomparable to anything else I have ever done. I found myself trekking through rainforests and over cliffs, while peering at the ocean through the foliage. I am so grateful to have been able to experience a Caribbean vacation, as my love for flowers and plants was truly realized on my trip. I would have never guessed that my passion for plants could grow larger than it already was.

Two years ago, my three best friends and I spent months planning our vacation. Then right before we left, we were faced with a very big problem. The hotel we had booked at called us and said that there had been a plumbing problem, and that they would be closed the week that we had planned our stay. There was nothing that we could do, there would be no way for us to re-schedule our trip. The only thing that we could try to do would be to book our stays somewhere else. Although we had been refunded all of our money, booking our stay so close to our arrival was going to be super expensive. Then all at once, all of our concerns were solved.

One of the girls was researching different hotels we could stay at, when she stumbled upon a bunch of hotel discounts. We were so relieved, with the hotel discount we found and used, we had some of our refund money left over! Booking with a hotel discount also landed us in a much nicer hotel than the original one we were staying at. We could not believe that we had gone from desperate and depressed, to excited and elated so quickly. A hotel discount truly saved our vacation.

There is one Caribbean vacation spot I have to go to in the future, that is the island of St. Lucia in the eastern Caribbean Sea. I have to admit, I was watching episodes of a  popular TV show that was filmed in St. Lucia. What a tropical paradise! With rolling green hills and huge green peaks along with all the tropical fauna and lushness, not to mention that gorgeous, clear, turquoise water, it is absolutely breath taking. I can’t think of a more romantic Caribbean vacation to go on for anytime, not just for honeymoons.  Caribbean vacations have always been popular, but mostly I heard about the islands that the Caribbean cruise ships go to, like St. Thomas or Martinique. St. Lucia is a small island with charming villiages and has many places to explore. It is a hidden treasure. I am sure after watching this TV program, St. Lucia will become a very popular Caribbean travel destination. This Caribbean island surely got my attention and it is on my bucket list of places to see and explore.

There is nothing that I care for more than the view of the beautiful ocean during the summer months. I have seen both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans from many different vantage points. Recently, I experienced the sea in the most beautiful way that I have ever seen it. I was on my first Caribbean travel excursion and loving every minute of my adventure. The first time I saw the ocean during my Caribbean travel experience, I was brought to tears. I had never felt so physically effected by the visual wonder of the sea in any other circumstance, I knew that this trip was going to stay with me for the rest of my life.

Those days wandering through the streets in the small towns and shopping among the natives were wonderful, but there was no comparison to spending the long Caribbean travel days on the beach looking out at the crystal clear waters. My husband and I grew so much closer together on our adventure. The natural beauty of the islands was something that rekindled our romance and re inspired our friendship. I am so grateful for the Caribbean travel adventure that we took together. I will always treasure playing witness to the wonder and glory of the Caribbean aesthetic.

        Several years ago, my family decided to take one last big trip together on an exciting caribbean cruise. My brothers were graduating from college, and I was in my freshman year of college. I was enthralled for the opportunity to visit the Grand Cayman Islands, Jamaica, and some other small islands on our caribbean cruise.
        We departed from Florida on a very beautiful day. The sun was shining brightly, and the ocean was the most beautiful blue I have ever laid my eyes on. For the first day and night, we moved into the unknown of ocean as far as the eye could see, constantly moving toward our first destination: Jamaica.
        I had never visited Jamaica before, but I was delighted to see it for the first time on this wonderful caribbean cruise. When we got off the ship and started touring the island, I was immediately surprised with how genuinely kind all of the natives were. They offered to carry our stuff and they had lots of interesting hand made things they were trying to sell us. I bought a small wood turtle that I keep on my dresser to this day. It was a great trip!
